Part of something bigger
TUMC is part of a regional body called Mennonite Church Eastern Canada, as well as the national Mennonite Church Canada.
We are partners in our building with the Toronto Mennonite New Life Church (Iglesia Menonita Nueva Vida), a Spanish-speaking congregation, and the Mennonite New Life Centre of Toronto, which does innovative refugee and immigrant resettlement work.
A church-owned home has been renovated to offer transitional housing to victims of human trafficking through the Aurora House ministry.
We also relate to a worldwide organization called Mennonite World Conference, which includes approximately 2.1 million baptized members of Anabaptist churches worldwide. (Photo: the 2015 Mennonite World Conference assembly in Harrisburg, Pa.)
We support the work of:
- Mennonite Church Eastern Canada (regional church grouping)
- Mennonite Church Canada (national denomination)
- Mennonite Central Committee (international relief, development and peacemaking)
- Mennonite World Conference (global organization of Mennonite/Anabaptist churches)
- Mennonite Disaster Service (cleanup and repair after disasters)
- Community Peacemaker Teams (violence-reduction teams in conflict areas around the globe)
- St. Clair O’Connor Community (a multigenerational residence/nursing home in East York)
- Aurora House, a transitional shelter for victims of human trafficking
- Refugee sponsorship & settlement, aided by MCC and the Mennonite New Life Centre
- Mennonite Centre in Ukraine (aiding needy Ukrainians living in areas of former Mennonite settlement)
- And many more fields of service.
