TUMC is a Christian community in the Mennonite-Anabaptist peace church tradition. We aspire to be a family of faith that welcomes people of diverse backgrounds and stories, worshipping and supporting each other, while following Christ’s example in working for peace and justice in our urban context.
This Friday
We’re marking the solemn day of Good Friday (March 29) with two services. At 10:30 a.m., a family-friendly service that allows fidgety kids lots of opportunity to travel around our building will tell the story of the events of Holy Week and the Crucifixion in a way children can understand. There will be a special craft as well. A more adult-oriented, meditative Taize-style service of scripture and song, with Communion, will begin at 7 p.m. in our sanctuary. Guests and newcomers are warmly welcomed to take part in either service.
This Sunday
On Easter Sunday we meet at 11. Join us to celebrate the risen Christ and share Easter bread and coffee after the service. This is always a joyous Sunday and we’d love to have you join us!
Whether you’re a committed follower of Jesus, interested in exploring questions of faith in a safe and welcoming environment, or simply curious, there’s a place for you at TUMC!
CHURCH ON THE GROUND meets at 1774 Queen St. E., in the Beach neighbourhood. We’ve relaxed our anti-Covid practices, but masks are encouraged.
CHURCH IN THE CLOUD is open to everyone, far and wide, via the Zoom link available in the emailed announcements. (Don’t get the announcements? Contact Marieke before noon Friday.)
