TUMC is a Christian community in the Mennonite-Anabaptist "peace church" tradition. We aspire to be a family of faith  that welcomes people with diverse backgrounds and stories, worshipping together and supporting one another, while following Christ's example in working for peace and justice in our urban context.

Worship Service

Welcome!

In the Gospel of John, Jesus often asks his followers: "What are you looking for?"

How might you respond? Are you looking for answers to questions of social justice, are you looking for a place where you can honestly explore your deepest questions, are you looking for a community where you can worship in song and prayer?

Most of us are spiritually hungry for something, but it's not always easy to say just what. On one occasion, Jesus' followers, not sure how to respond, simply asked: "Teacher, where are you staying?" And he said, "Come and see." John says the disciples "came and saw, and they remained with him the rest of that day."

As you browse this website about our faith community, I invite you to come and see and, if you wish, to remain a while.

Marilyn Zehr, lead pastor

This Sunday: Children meet to practise singing at 9:45 a.m.  Sunday School and Adult Education begin at 10 a.m., and the worship service at 11 a.m., followed by coffee and conversation.

A Prayer for Earth Day

God looked at everything God had made, and found it very good. Genesis 1: 31

Let us pray for: trees, plants, crops, and forests.
Let us pray for: water, oceans, rivers, streams and ponds.
Let us pray for: air, wind, climate and weather.
Let us pray for: sun, clean energy and prevention of global warming.
Let us pray for: animals, especially endangered species.
Let us pray for: humankind.
Let us pray for: recycling and moderate personal consumption.
Let us pray for: proper use of chemicals and disposal of toxic waste.
Let us pray for: Earth and unity.

"God has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God?" Micah 6: 8

Creator God, we thank you for all of creation. We ask Your forgiveness where we have failed to be just stewards. And we now ask for Your guidance in restoring the face of the earth. May we learn to live in harmony, safety and just sharing of resources among all so that we achieve the Reign of God. Amen.
