Reconciliation: TUMC’s Commitment

Truth and Reconciliation

At TUMC, we are reminded often that the centre of our faith is Christ; that the centre of our life is community; and that the centre of our work is reconciliation.

As Canadians of faith, we are especially committed to the process of reconciliation with our aboriginal brothers and sisters, following the challenges outlined in the work of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. One of these challenges is to better educate ourselves on the history of Turtle Island (North America) and the human toll of settler culture, attitudes and actions on the Indigenous peoples who have lived here from time immemorial.
