Building a sharing community

Welcome to TUMC, a Christian community in the Mennonite-Anabaptist “peace church” tradition. We aspire to be a family of faith  that welcomes people with diverse backgrounds and stories, worshipping together and supporting one another, while following Christ’s example in working for peace and justice in our urban context.

This Sunday

All are warmly welcomed to join us this week for worship at 11 a.m., followed by coffee, tea and conversation. Christian Education for all ages begins at 10 a.m., with On the Way Café (adults) gathering in the new second floor meeting room (north side) and classes for kids and youth on the lower level. Kids Choir meets at 9:45 a.m. in the sanctuary.

TUMC is a friendly, intergenerational, multicultural community. We’re always glad to welcome newcomers. Whether you’re new to the city, visiting or simply curious, please feel free to check us out! For more information, check out the About Us tab.

What’s new at TUMC’s meeting place

Our newly expanded building has lots of wonderful features that have prompted some changes to how we use our lobby and worship space –– click above to learn more. To see a video about the renovation, which was dedicated on Nov. 13, visit https://youtu.be/zKSLUdhL_UI. Many thanks to everyone who contributed financially and through countless hours of volunteer work to make the reno a reality!

Advent: a season with a reason

As the weather turns, TUMC marks the end of the liturgical year with a simple ceremony remembering those we loved who have gone before us (Eternity Sunday) on Nov. 20. Then begins the anticipatory season of Advent – four Sundays looking forward in hope to the coming of Jesus. Join us for some special moments during this season, including the traditional Carol Sing on the first Sunday evening of Advent (Nov. 27). Because Christmas and New Year’s fall this year on Sundays, we will hold our regular Sunday services on those days, joyfully celebrating the coming of Jesus and the start of a new year together.

On the Way Café: conversations on faith & life

Come at 10 a.m. and start your morning with a cup of coffee and perhaps something to nibble on as we gather in our new light-filled, kitchen-equipped second-floor meeting room to enjoy stimulating conversation every Sunday on various topics about faith and life. Adult Education was never so easy to enjoy.
