Growing in faith

Learning together from scripture

Working for a just & peaceful world

Sharing the light of Christ

Nurturing kids & teens

Building a sharing community

Welcome to TUMC, a Christian community in the Mennonite-Anabaptist “peace church” tradition. We aspire to be a family of faith ¬†that welcomes people with diverse backgrounds and stories, worshipping together and supporting one another, while following Christ’s example in working for peace and justice in our urban context.

This Sunday

TUMC is a friendly, intergenerational, multicultural community. We’re always glad to welcome newcomers. During the summer, there are no Christian Education classes, but kids are welcome during the service to play with quiet toys in the back, or pick up an activity bag with age-appropriate materials rooted in our summer theme of “Borders and Boundaries” to enjoy during the service.¬† Whether you’re new to the city, visiting or simply curious, please feel free to check us out. For more information, check out the About Us tab.

GTA Mennonites gather at Willowgrove!

On Aug. 7, we’ll enjoy a wonderful tradition: worshipping together with our multicultural sister churches around the GTA at Willowgrove, a lovely day-camp at 11737 McCowan Road, Stouffville. This is a great family-friendly outing: after the outdoor service, enjoy a potluck lunch and lots of activities: swimming pool, farm animals, a low ropes course, haymow playgrounds, a corn maze, playground, field games and exploring the camp’s creek and woodlot areas. Watch for details. Click for more pix!

Refugee sponsorship

Our refugee family of three continues to settle in to their new home in Toronto. They are eager to see the city and practice their English with conversational partners, particularly during some down time they will have this summer. Please contact the refugee sponsorship committee (Pam O. Evan H., Helga W., Doreen M. or Melanie P.) if you are interested in providing some companionship.

Aurora House

Aurora House is a reality! TUMC’s new ministry to victims of human trafficking welcomed its first resident in mid-June, after a room-by-room blessing ceremony in May. A huge thanks to everyone who has prayed, donated, pitched in with labour and completed furnishing the house, which also now has a resident coordinator as well as a functioning program through the Toronto Mennonite New Life Centre.
